Meta — Designing at Billions Scale

As a Senior Product Designer at Meta, I designed experiences across core platforms — balancing simplicity, accessibility, and performance at a scale that touches billions of people daily.

Designing for Everyone, Everywhere

At Meta, "users" aren't a demographic — they're the entire connected world. Design decisions ripple across cultures, devices, network conditions, and accessibility needs at unprecedented scale.

Working at Meta was an exercise in extreme constraint and extreme impact. Every pixel change had to be validated against dozens of A/B test cohorts, localized for 100+ languages, and performant on devices ranging from the latest iPhone to a $50 Android phone on a 2G connection.

I contributed to cross-functional products within Meta's core platforms — working at the intersection of product strategy, design systems, user research, and engineering to ship experiences that scaled globally.

The design culture at Meta is deeply data-informed. Every hypothesis is tested, every change measured, and every launch monitored. This environment sharpened my ability to design with measurable intent.

How I Designed at Meta's Scale

A systematic approach to shipping impactful design across the world's largest social platform.

📊
Data-Informed Design
Leveraging Meta's vast instrumentation to validate hypotheses before investing in full design explorations.
🌍
Global-First Thinking
Designing for emerging markets, RTL languages, low-bandwidth scenarios, and diverse cultural contexts.
🧪
Experimentation Culture
Rigorous A/B testing, holdout groups, and long-term impact analysis for every ship decision.
🔧
Systems Thinking
Contributing to and consuming shared design systems that ensure consistency across Meta's product family.

Selected Projects

While NDA constraints limit what I can share publicly, here's a look at the types of problems I solved and the approach I brought.

Meta design work sample

Cross-Platform Experience Design: Led design for features that needed to work seamlessly across Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger — respecting each platform's design language while maintaining a cohesive user experience.

Design System Contributions: Contributed new components and interaction patterns to Meta's internal design system — used by hundreds of designers across the company.

Accessibility-First Approaches: Championed accessibility improvements that benefited not just users with disabilities, but improved the core experience for everyone — larger touch targets, clearer hierarchy, better contrast ratios.

User Research at Scale: Partnered with UXR to run studies across 12+ countries — uncovering usage patterns that challenged Silicon Valley assumptions about how people use social products.

Performance-Aware Design: Learned to design with bundle size in mind — every animation, every image asset, every DOM node counted at Meta's scale. I developed a keen instinct for "performance budgets" in design.

Rapid Iteration: Shipped multiple iterations per week in some cases — learning to make design decisions quickly while maintaining quality, and to let data settle disagreements.

Designing at world scale.

Meta taught me that great design at scale is about discipline, empathy, and relentless iteration — and I bring that mindset to everything I do.
